Context
Interviews only tell a small part of the story and who you are. Hence we like to get practical. We’ve tried trial days and realized they’re not fully reproducible. And require overhead time to get familiar with the Amie codebase.
We’d love you to showcase your skills by building something related to Amie. It could be
- something expected, done really well
- something unexpected, concepted really well
You don’t need to build something that can immediately be integrated into Amie. It should just make sense in the broader theme of time, productivity, calendaring,…
Expectations
- Decide on something that best shows your skills. Eg if you want to highlight your design skills, it may be better not to build a 3rd party API integration (and instead mock data)
- Share what you built, how you built it and why you built it (there are so many ideas, what made you focus on this one?)
- Screen recordings (Loom or regular) are super helpful to help us understand your thinking
- Free-form documents (Notion, Google,..) additionally can be helpful
- Just like in any other work project, you can use Github Copilot, the internet, open source repos,…
- Should be done individually, not with help of friends
- You can always ask the Amie team for help via the shared Slack channel #yourname-amie
- We really appreciate mid-way updates
- It should use the technologies we’re using (React, Typescript, Next.js, Tailwind,…)
- We expect to see all material (Figma file, repo,…) afterwards
Conditions
- You have up to 1 week after sending this brief
- Please suggest a fair rate for 8h
- Keep in mind we don’t consider this freelance work. It’s meant to help you and us to see how working together would be
- Let us know if it ended up being more than 8h, and why.
